This really resonated with me. I went self employed four years ago and I reached very similar conclusions. It’s really interesting - I think that when you embrace freedom as a professional, you start searching for freedom in other spaces. And the shift in priorities begins
ohh I love that, how embracing freedom in one aspect in your life leads to others. It’s like that common phrase how you do one thing is how you do everything.
I take a perfect day of spending time with loved ones and also time for myself, to chill and read a book, anytime than an award. But not to say I wouldn't want one, everybody loves a validation or two :)
Letting go of a project is something I've learned lately too, it's bittersweet but I knew also it's for the better. More time and energy to focus on something else that is needed!
This really spoke to me. Letting go of what no longer serves you is a lesson that we all need to learn. Its the only way to prevent overwhelm again in our lives. Thank you for sharing. Im looking forward to following your journey.
For sure. I think in the moment it's hard to see what no longer serves you, or you're afraid of what might happens when you let go. Your Substack sounds fascinating - off to check it out!
I'm glad you're taking time to appreciate all you've accomplished. It sounds like you were on overtime and overdrive for a long time, but sometimes we have to live in the extremes to find what's our center.
We're very different. I chose a life abroad because I didn't want my life to be the 9-5+ and when I did dabble in self-employment I very soon realized how HARD it was. Well done, Sarah! 🙌🙌🙌
Totally. Looking back I have been on overdrive, and it's hard to rest as a parent, ha! Honestly, I miss the life abroad. Who knows, maybe plans are in the works ;)

Exactly! We learn and relearn new patterns and generalize them - until a new ones come in
your courage is profound and deeply inspiring. Thanks for sharing this with all of us.
Thank you! Though I’m not sure in the moment I though I was being courageous 😂

Totally with you on freeing up energy on focusing on other things. I too am not against external validation sometimes haha.

Loving these reflections. Highly relatable to my experience.
Also a title I’ve been toying with in my brain for my newsletter is “seeking enoughness”, so we’re very much on the same wavelength (=
Sending love.
I vote you name it "Seeking Enoughness"!
What a beautifully written piece (and awesome photo!) It would be so cool to hang out on one of you rest days!
Ah if only we lived closer (though I am always happy to meet for a virtual coffee!)
